Summer 2022 Skin Care Tips

With summer 2022 summering like never before we are all feeling the heat. Your skin may be doing things it has never done before like more acne, an increase of oily skin days, and sweatier arm pits. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I am hearing this from friends, clients, and family. With these warmer temperatures skincare routines and habits are being tested. We are seeing which products are standing strong and the ones we will never purchase again.
On these hot days I have been reaching for my Light Aloe Moisturizer. This lightweight moisturizer is packed with a lot of hydrating ingredients but is able to keeps my face from being oily.
Even if you have oily skin you still need to moisturize your skin. Keeping the skin hydrated will help to keep your skin at optimal health and maintain a good skin barrier.
In addition to hydrating your skin with a good quality daily moisturizer, there are little things that can be added to your routine to help with over all skin health.
Here are a 3 simple things that can be added to your daily routine to keep your skin healthy. Sleeping on a satin pillowcase can help keep away wrinkles and does not pull moisture from your skin like cotton. You may have seen people on TV or youtubers switching over to silk or satin pillowcases to protect their hair but it is great for your face too. My next Summer Skin Tip is using a humidifier. Most people only think of using a humidifier in the winter or when feeling under the weather, but a cool mist humidifier can help keep you with glowing skin. Using a humidifier at night keeps moisture in the air so your skin does not dry out while you are sleeping (I put mine on the nightstand). My ultimate favorite thing to do in the summer is cold rolling my face! I look forward to this when I wake up or after my morning walk in the morning. Cold rolling helps with blood circulation and puffy/swollen face morning face, with lymphatic drainage plus it feels really good.
